Now, that we're back home, it's time to get into the swing of things. For me, that means kicking the projects around the house into high gear. At the top of the list is getting the chandelier hung, but I've also been brainstorming about the next big project.
In just a couple of weeks, The Babe is turning 1 (sooo hard to believe!), and I've decided to transition her into a big girl room as part of her birthday present. Right now, she's in a smaller room that we've used as her nursery, but the room she'll be moving into is much bigger. It is currently a blank slate and ohhh so boring. Because it has no style and I don't like the paint color, I've been searching around for inspiration, and I finally found my starting place this morning. Check out this fabric that I plan to use for curtains!

I placed an order for 12 yards this morning, and I should have it early next week. Once I have it in hand, I'm going to decide if I can muster up the courage to actually sew this stuff or if I'm going to wuss out and use iron on hem tape. I have a feeling I'm going to want quick gratification... I also need to pick a paint color, get new light fixtures, paint a dresser, etc. :)
Can you tell I am beyond thrilled to have an entire room makeover next on the list? Pssst, if any local Raleigh readers would be willing to trade a sewing tutorial for something I can offer, leave me a comment or send me an email. Pwwweeez!
Anyway, so while you're enjoying your day, I'm going to be sitting over here anxiously waiting on my fabric to arrive. Also, please don't tell The Babe her birthday present from momma this year is kind of a present for momma, too. ;)
Have a great Wednesday and I'll be back with more updates soon!

Love it! Such a lucky girl!
ReplyDeleteIt's gonna look soooooo good!
ReplyDeleteIron-on hem tape! Why didn't I think of that?! I'm 35 weeks pregnant and just bought fabric to make curtains. The project is no longer dreaded! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous fabric!!!! I wish I lived in Raleigh to help you and shamelessly mooch on you for some decorating advice :).
ReplyDeleteI love that fabric! I can't wait to see what you do with her brand new big girl room. Seriously, you should have been some kind of interior designer or something!
