Just wanted to do a quick post to let you know that I'm a featured guest blogger today over at Thrifty 101. Michelle has shared some of my favorite projects with her readers, so if you're new to the blog and want a good recap of my faves, head here to check it out! You can also check out my "popular projects" page just below the header above.
I also wanted to give you a few quick updates on several different DIY art projects I'm working on for The Babe's room. One involves painting frames on these pictures that actually used to hang in my childhood bedroom. I can remember looking at them when I was little, so I'm excited to share them with my daughter, too. I'm thinking they'll eventually hang over the new changing table / dresser (BTW, totally haven't started working on that yet...arrrrr). I'm painting the frames white, though, and need to do a couple more quick coats.
The next project is creating some canvas artwork that will hang above her crib. My original inspiration was this print on Etsy.

I've decided to create my own version of the print on 24" x 36" canvas. I'm using teal and white acrylics and fonts I've downloaded online. A full tutorial on this will be coming soon! For now, here's a sneak peek from last night. Pssst, if you are a Facebook fan, you already saw this. If you're not a Facebook fan of The Tall Chick yet, come on and join in the fun!

I also have plans to create artwork for the space above her closet using the print below as inspiration. I haven't started on this one yet, but I'm planning to mainly feature the words, "que sera, sera." My mom used to sing this to me when I was little, so it has lots of special memories.

Please be sure to stop by Thrifty 101 today and send me some happy artistic vibes, too! I'm really, really hoping to share the tutorial on the "you are my happy" artwork tomorrow! :)
